Having a baby or a toddler in your home means lots of itsy bits of toys and things used and left around in a hurry. Chasing a 2-year-old around the house and changing diapers periodically will guarantee a mess if you don’t have storage hampers.
Here’s a collection of some of the bins and boxes you can give to a Mom in need or to a fussy person – Yes, coz even single people need organization in their lives. The designs of these bins are cute and are initially meant for baby’s use, but these fun prints can also add the right pinch of funk to a yuppie’s flat. Anyone who has a knack for being a neat freak and a clutter-fusser would love to have any of these this Christmas. Yet again, another practical gift to give this year.

A baby bottle bag or nappy bag is an essential item which should be in every pregnant woman’s must-have list. You need to keep your baby’s things in order and within reach when you go out. This bag is very useful until your baby grows up. Things won’t be cluttered and you won’t have a hard time preparing his milk or drink even when you are at the park or the mall. Having a baby bag also helps you keep track of things which your kid needs when going out of the house; You can rest assure that you haven’t forgotten anything necessary if you have thoroughly prepared the bag beforehand.
What are the things that must go into the baby bag?
- diapers (for those long trips)
- baby bottles with measured water (prepare these so all you have to do is dump the milk in)
- milk dispenser (estimate how much he needs)
- wet wipes (for emergency trips to the restroom or after eating)
- baby’s extra clothes (you can’t let sweat dry on his back)
- wiping cloth (for spilled milk, barf, sweat or food)
- alcohol or hand sanitizer (this is for you MOM, your hands must always be clean before holding your baby)
- baby blanket (if your kid is still an infant you’ll need something to swaddle him in)
- baby’s jacket (I always bring my toddler’s jacket just in case it gets too cold)
- your wallet (of course MOM)
- house keys
- baby’s food (if there’s any)
- umbrella
….and the list goes on. But remember to bring just the necessary stuff or else you’d end up carrying a heavy bag along with your baby. The list also depends on where and how long you’ll be out of the house.
It’s inevitable that a handful have to be packed, but a baby is very sensitive, demanding, and delicate. Everything must therefore be prepared thoroughly and packed conveniently.
How do you choose a baby bag?
- It is important that this bag be roomy. Considering the number of essential things your baby needs, the bag should have a lot of room to accommodate a handful of baby stuff. There are bags which are collapsible or can be pinched/buttoned at the side to adjust size.
- The bag must be sturdy. You won’t want your bag ripping apart in the midst of a family outing, don’t you? Check the material, make sure it doesn’t look like it will rip with too much weight or after it will be washed. There are bags made of plastic, and some made of sturdy cloth and cotton. Put to mind the things that will be placed in the bag, and the manner in which you’ll be washing the bag.
- Vertical or horizontal? Just like a paper layout, portrait or landscape? This is totally your call, being the one who will carry it. Which orientation are you most comfortable with? Which do you think can accommodate more items? I prefer bags which are in a horizontal rectangle shape, because the things which will be placed inside won’t be stacked over each other in considerable depth. Horizontal bags are better because you won’t have to dig too deep to find a diaper, and it doesn’t topple over easily.
- Compartments! I think this is a must. A baby bag must have a lot of compartments for little things, especially the bottles. Look for a bottle pocket at the sides or inside. Look for pockets and dividers which can keep items in place and organized. This way, you’ll be able to easily locate something you need.
- Straps. These straps must be adjustable and comfortable to the shoulders (or back ir you’re opting for a backpack type). Make sure that the straps won’t snap off easily.
- Design. There are a lot of available chic baby bags out now, from plain block colors to printed. Some look obviously kiddie, and some look like a lady’s purse. Choose one that suits your taste without sacrificing efficiency, convenience, and material strength.
- Look for bonus stuff, such as changing mat and accessories, purse, etc. Some nappy bags have diaper purses with them, others have changing mats tucked inside. Whatever it may be, it’s always great to get additional items in the package.
Here are some beautiful baby bags that you can choose from. You can find more at Babyroo store.
